Solid Waste Management
A.L. Sinclair, Adair County Solid Waste Coordinator/PRIDE Coordinator (270) 384-4703
Garbage Haulers: If you are a resident of the county or recently moved to the county and need to have your trash picked up, please contact one of the local garbage haulers listed to the right of this page.
Mr. Sinclair is the man to contact if you see trash on the roadsides, or any illegal dumps. A.L. was born in Adair County and is married to Barbara Franklin Sinclair. The have three children. He is retired from the Division of Forestry after thirty-three years as Ranger. A.L. works throughout the year with Class D Inmates picking up trash along the sides of county and state roads. He works with PRIDE to obtain grant money to clean up illegal roadside dumps within the county. He also works with our recycling program and the school systems with information about recycling and roadside litter.
If you see old appliances, tires, of bags of trash that have been dumped on the roadsides please contact A.L. and let him know. Since Adair County does not have mandatory trash pickup A.L. works with the trash collectors within the county to see that they have their permits to haul trash in Adair County, and makes sure that the vehicles they use are either trapped, or covered which prevents them from losing trash along the sides of the roads.
A Message from A.L. Sinclair
I would like to see in the future of Adair County more education on recycling and litter, mandatory garbage pickups, neighborhood watch for illegal dumping, having the Tire Amnesty Program available to Adair County every year, and continued roadside cleanups. During my time as PRIDE Coordinator we have, with the help of PRIDE, cleaned up one hundred and fifteen illegal roadside dumps in Adair County.
