The Adair County Road Department is located on 62 Service Road, and maintains 600 plus miles of county roads.  The Road Department has built forty-one plus bridges throughout the county.

Duties of the Road Department include installing tiles, ditching, repairing roads, hauling gravel, backhoe work, trimming trees, cutting trees, chipping limbs from cut trees, mowing road right ways, cold patching, grading, hauling salt, grading snow from roads, replacing road signs, picking up trash from right ways, maintaining the road equipment and many others.  In addition, several times throughout the year they are called out in the night and on weekends for snow removal and storm damage.
