District 6 Magistrate
Magistrate District 6 Joe Rogers (1990) (270) 384-4831
I have been Magistrate for seventeen years and currently serving for four more. I have been a resident of District 6 all my life and feel qualified in saying ten bulldozers couldn’t pull me out of this district. I live in the Holmes Bend area of District 6. I have been honored to serve the people of District 6 for the last seventeen years and humbled to have been chosen as their Magistrate for the next four years. If at anytime you have a question about the county or a problem in District 6 please don’t hesitate to call me. If I don’t know the answer I will try my best to find the answer for you. Being Magistrate is not limited to only District 6 but also to the residents of Adair County by serving on the fiscal court as a voting member for the decisions of the county. District 6 is one of the largest districts in the county, having more road miles than any other district.
District 6 is one of the most unique districts of Adair County. Green River Lake and Wildlife Management Area cuts through the middle of this district, where hunting and fishing are plentiful. District 6 has several acres of controlled government land that offers quota hunts for deer, pheasant, and duck. Fishing in District 6 is plentiful from large mouth bass, small mouth bass, musky, walleye, crappie, white bass, bluegill and many others. You can fish from boats, banks or even wade and fish. District 6 also offers fishing tournaments. This district offers some of the best farmland in the county that is suitable for beef, dairy, sheep, goat and hog production. The land is strong and fertile for growing crops; its limestone base will grow tobacco, corn, beans, hay and others. If you are an avid equestrian, District 6 offers numerous horse trails. If you enjoy a quiet Sunday afternoon drive then District 6 is the place to visit, no other district can offer the beautiful sunrise or sunset over beautiful Green River Lake. Newborn calves, or baby calves chasing butterflies, wildlife abundant at anytime of the day. I’m sorry I can’t explain the beauty of District 6 well enough for you to see, so I guess you will just have to visit for yourself. The residents of District 6 are some of the friendliest, most humble, generous, kind, and loving people of any district. District 6 is truly one of the most unique districts in the county.
